PALM SPRINGS BEST PHOTO SPOTS

You will find so many beautiful spots in Palm Springs to shoot an epic picture for your Instagram Account or to get some beautiful holiday pictures to remember the wonderful time here.

We will share with you where we found beautiful spots, and we also will tell you when to go to get the perfect light for your picture.

Anywhere you can find a Pool

If you came along our previous blog post about the best hotels with the most significant Pool areas, you already know some places. If not, click HERE to go to that blog post (but don’t forget to come back to read the next point where to find great photo spots).
Taking pictures at the pool is so easy, and it always looks fantastic!
When to shoot: We prefer to take pool pictures around 3 pm – 5 pm. The shadows are big, and the sun is going to set. Let the sun into your photos and let her sneak peek behind a palm tree or a beautiful building. And always try to shoot against the sun to get more contrasty shots.

You’re new to the editing game…
…or you would like to have a similar color look like we have? Then make sure to download our latest preset! It is made for locations like those you will find in that blog post. Not sure yet? Click HERE and watch the before and after! We’re sure you will love it!

Cabazon Dinosaurs

Those Dinosaurs are super iconic roadside attractions and perfect locations for awesome pictures. Let your inner dinosaur roar and have fun at that place.

When to shoot: You can take pictures in the morning or the evening. We took the photos in the evening because we drove after the third photo spot and wanted some beautiful evening spot there.
Location: Cabazon Dinosaurs, 50770 Seminole Dr, Cabazon, CA 92230

Windmill Farm

With their 600 to 700 Windmills, you will find a spot you like and can take some pictures. And I’m sure you will find a place with no other people. We loved to take photographs there.

When to shoot: As we said before, we took pictures there around sunset, but you can take photos from morning to evening.
Location: If you want to take pictures at the same spot we did you will find the place here.

Palm Springs Sign

That was such an excellent place to take pictures. You can park at the visitor center and walk to the street where you can find the sign.

When to shoot: We can highly recommend going during sunset. The light will be awesome, and you can also take some pictures at the desert /palm forest behind the sign.

Location: Palm Springs Sign, Palm Springs, CA 92262

Moorten Botanical Garden

With more than 3000 varieties of plants, you can take a variety of different pictures with a lovely background. The entry will cost you 5$ and worth it.

When to shoot: You can take pictures the whole day, but don’t forget to check the opening hours.

Location: Moorten Botanical Garden, 1701 S Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264

Palm Springs City Hall

That building looks so cool with those three palm trees. The perfect background for your photos.

When to shoot: Go in the evening so the palm trees will look golden with the light and you will have some great shadows.

Location: Palm Springs City Hall, 3200 E Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262

Salvation Mountain

One of the most known places near Palm Springs. It is not directly in town, but you can reach it with a 1.5-hour drive. If you like colorful pictures that will be YOUR SPOT! It’s unlike anything you’ll have seen before!

When to shoot: All day long but maybe avoid noon because of the harsh shadows.

Location: Salvation Mountain, Beal Rd, Calipatria, CA 92233

Joshua Tree National Park

Those are the places I love to take pictures. You can explore the area, hike around, and take photos at the same time. That’s just awesome!

When to shoot: You can take pictures here the whole day and evening and at night for some star pictures. But don’t forget to bring enough water, it can get hot.

Location: Joshua Tree National Park

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

Like Joshua Tree NP, it is an awesome place for hikes and taking pictures from the wildlife. Yeah, you heard, right! You can find Bighorn Sheeps in this area, and they are not shy. When we went there those lovely animals chilled at the parking lot and weren’t pretty impressed by us. You can also make a palm tree oasis hike and enjoy that beautiful oasis (don’t do it in summer, it will be too hot).

When to shoot: You can take pictures the whole day, it depends on how you like the light in your photographs. We prefer morning or evening pictures.

Where you should NOT take pictures!

You surely have seen thousands of pictures in front of colorful doors or walls. It is quite popular to take photos in palm springs neighborhood. I know the pictures are looking awesome, BUT do you want tourists all over your house? Don’t be that rude and avoid taking photographs.
